Difference between foam core board and gator board
Share This Post
Today, Liza from Hollywood Hills is asking us the following regarding event display boards.
Can you tell me what is the difference between foam core board and gator board?
Dear Liza,
These are two different materials both used to create display boards. A foamcare board features thin paper on both sides while a gator board (also spelled gatorboard) is thicker and resistant to humidity.
Foamcare is your cheaper option. If you need temporary signage for an indoor event, you can select foamcare as a material, which will allow you to save a bit of money.
However, less expensive also means lesser quality. If you need to create something permanent that you will be carrying around and might be used outdoor, make sure to go for gator board, which is not only way more resistant but will also look better.
Here, at Red Carpet Systems, we only work with top quality materials, which means we will create for you strong and beautiful gator board posters which are ½” thick (see example below we made for movie premiere).
