A step and repeat backdrop is a square or rectangle banner featuring a pattern made of logos.
These backdrops are usually used as backgrounds for photography at red carpet events, press conferences, promotional events, wedding and parties.
To make your own step and repeat backdrop, follow the steps listed below.
Here are the items you will need to have on hand:
• Exact-o Knife
• Spray Adhesive
• A Big Roll of Paper or 2 White Panels of no less than 4 feet wide and 6 feet tall.
• White or Masking Tape
• Hook and Loop Tape or Tacks
• Trash Bags
• A Roller (or a drinking glass)
1. To design the background, choose the custom logo to use as stencil. You additionally need to decide if you want it in black and white or in colors. Be sure the size is about 15 inches wide and 9 inches high for bettervisibility.
2. Take your 2 white panels and tape them together, making sure the.align correctly. If you are using a big roll of paper, use the knife to cut the 4-6 feet wide and 6 feet high panels.
3. Print out the stencil on 11×17 inch paper. If you can’t do this at home, just go to a printer/copy type business to have them printed in at least 50 copies.
4. Spray the top 15 inches of the panels with adhesive. Then take one stencil copy and properly place it toward the top part of the panel.
5. Smooth the stencil over with a roller or drinking glass.
6. Repeat the process, from one row to the other, placing all the stencils in a precise, regular pattern – if you have different logos, alternate them.
7. Once you have covered both panels top to bottom, place the hook and loop tape in the back of the panel to hang them on a wall.
