1. Send Out Press Releases

You don’t need to work with a PR company in order to send out press releases. It’s easy enough to do it on your own. Make sure all the big outlets are aware of your event.

2. Take Advantage Of Social Media

If your event is getting a lot of attention on social media, sites will naturally want to cover it. Post updates from your event on a variety of social media sites. Make sure you use a number of different hashtags. You should be able to get people excited about your event.

3. Contact Every Outlet That Might Be Interested in Your Event

Make a list of the outlets that might be interested in your event. Look into radio stations, local news outlets, and more. Don’t just shoot for the biggest sites around. Sometimes, a smaller news outlet may actually be able to get you more attention.

4. Invite VIP Guests
