With the Academy Awards being just a few weeks away, we have started getting requests for movie award parties held at bars, restaurants, theaters or on private properties. As a result, we’ve decided to give you a few tips to make your award hosting party successful.
Décor: Probably the most important element, you want your party to have the look and feel of a real movie award ceremony, which means at least a red carpet which you can rent and, if you want to go the extra mile, you can have a small step and repeat photo backdrop so that your guests can take memorable selfies. Also make sure you have nice table arrangements, whether it’s in terms of dinnerware or flowers.
Drinks: Rather than your typical beer, you might consider champagne or at least sparkling wine to make sure it looks the part.
Food: Just like with drinks, you want to serve somewhat sophisticated food. It doesn’t have to be caviar and lobster but fancy plating will definitely make your guests feel like they’re at the Governors Ball.
Screen: If a lot of people are coming, you might consider renting a big flat screen or even a projector, which would more particularly match your party theme.
Ballots: Everybody loves to predict the winners – especially here in Los Angeles – so print some ballots and have at least one prize to award the guest with the most accurate picks.
