Summer is a great time for pool parties. An adults-only pool party can be fun and very relaxing. There are many different themes and ideas to choose from when hosting such a party, but here are the top five.
Luau Party
A Luau pool party can be great fun. You can start by having guests bring their favorite Hawaiian beach towel or wearing Hawaiian shirts. You can provide leis for everyone to wear. To decorate the party scene, you can put grass skirts on the tables while adorning them with fresh coconuts or pineapples as centerpieces. As a finishing touch, you can put tiki torches around the pool or the yard and light them as the evening becomes dark. Foods for this party could include fresh tropical fruits, teriyaki chicken kabobs with pineapple and colorful peppers, and tropical drinks.
Fiesta Party
A fiesta party would include bright colors and Mexican fare. Tablewear can be bright reds, greens, and yellows with cacti centerpieces. Party foods for this event could include chips, served in an upturned Mexican hat, and salsa as an appetizer. You could continue with a taco fixings bar so guests could build their own tacos. Guests can be entertained by an inflatable cactus ring toss in the pool, or they can play “musical floats.”
Independence Day Party
A party around the fourth of July is an easy one to decorate. There will be tons of red, white, and blue accessories available in the stores. You can even decorate with miniature flags and banners on the tables and red, white, and blue floating candles in the pool. Foods would be traditional American barbeque foods such as grilled burgers, hot dogs, and chicken, grilled corn, and apple pie or strawberry shortcake for dessert.
Beach Party
A beach party can start by having guests spread their favorite beach towels out poolside among a group of beach umbrellas. Decorations can also include clean sand buckets filled with snacks or appetizers, seashell centerpieces, and candles in seashells. A small kiddie pool can be filled with ice to hold canned or bottled drinks. Mini beach umbrellas can be set in the ice as decoration and to shade drinks from the sun. Party food might include a shell pasta salad or cookies cut out to look like fish or starfish.
Party Under the Stars
The Under the Stars party theme can be fun and elegant. Start with lots of twinkly lights. You can find furniture with LED lights built into them, and you can string white Christmas-type lights around the yard and around the pool. In addition, balloons with LED lights inside can be tied to chairs around the pool for added ambiance while tables can be sprinkled with star shaped confetti, and centerpieces can include lots of stars. Party food for this event can include sandwiches cut into stars, star shaped cookies and crackers, and even a star shaped cake.
